Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
Prayers and blessings to all.
Lord my God, I sing you a Nativity hymn, rejoicing in the vigil of the feast. By your birth you have given me divine rebirth, raising me up to my first excellence.
Vindicate me, Lord my God, according to your righteousness; and let not my enemies rejoice over me. Rescue me from their destruction, my precious life from the lions. Say to my soul: “I am your salvation.”
When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. I acknowledged my sin to you. I have not hidden my transgression. And you forgave the discord of my sin.
I said in my haste, ‘I am cut off from before your eyes!’ Nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to you. Blessed be the Lord, for he has shown me his marvelous kindness.
Into your hand I commit my spirit. I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy, for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities.
In you, O Lord, I put my trust; let me never be ashamed. Bow down your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be my Rock of refuge, a fortress of defense to save me.
“Then he lifted up his eyes toward his disciples, and said….”
On this feast day of St. Nicholas, Sunday, December 6, 2020, we took a look at the Gospel reading for our patron saint: Luke 6:17-23.
I will extol you, Lord, for you have lifted me up, and have not let my foes rejoice over me. Lord my God, I cried out to you, and you healed me. Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!
